Forró

Anna & Alex

Anna and Alex founded bailastudio in March 2024, after nearly 10 years of shared dance experiences.

They fell in love with Forró in 2014 and started teaching their first classes at Forró Aachen (founded by Junio Reis de Souza) in 2017.

Anna discovered her passion for music, rhythm, and dance during her childhood. When she encountered Forró, the Brazilian partner dance and its culture quickly became a vital part of her life. In 2016, she traveled to Brazil for the first time to better connect with the country and its people, and to visit one of the most renowned Forró dance schools in Belo Horizonte. In addition to Forró, she currently dances Brazilian Zouk, Samba de Gafieira, and Hip-hop.

When Alex began playing the guitar at the age of 14, music became an inseparable part of his life. Through Forró, he discovered a passion for expressing music through dance. His dance style focuses on musicality and the connection between leader and follower, combining fluid arm movements with accentuated footwork.

In 2018, Anna and Alex spent several weeks together in Brazil, honing their dance and language skills and successfully passing exams at "pé descalço." Initially, their dance style was mainly influenced by Forró Universitário but soon expanded to include Forró Roots. Today, they enjoy combining the different styles to match the music, while also drawing inspiration from other dance forms.

Anna & Alex teach ongoing group classes, offer private lessons, lead workshops, and develop choreographies. They emphasize connection, musicality, and creativity, as well as good technique for both followers and leaders. Most importantly, they value the joy of dancing and fostering good energy in their classes and on the dance floor.

Brazilian Zouk

Anna & Jannis

Anna began her dance career in early childhood with classical ballet. In 2022, she completed her training as a state-certified dance educator specializing in ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Alongside ballet, she became involved in various Latin social dances, rock’n’roll, and ballroom dancing during her physics studies. Since 2017, she has been teaching ballroom and Latin dance, as well as occasionally instructing salsa and bachata. Together with Jannis, she began teaching Brazilian Zouk in Aachen in 2018.

Jannis started his dance journey during school with a classical ballroom dance course. During his physics studies in Bremen, he explored rock’n’roll, various Latin social dances like salsa and bachata, and, most notably, Brazilian Zouk.

Anna & Jannis began teaching Brazilian Zouk in Aachen in 2018. Together, they have built the local Zouk community. Their teaching methodology is heavily influenced by the concepts of Kadu & Larissa (K&L certification) and Alex de Carvalho (MAC certification).

You have the option to become a member of the association or to book the courses through bailastudio. They are also included in our Dance Flat.

Yoga

Lynn

„Flow“ is a feeling or state of mind in which you can forget the world around you. Lynn finds her flow in diving into the rhythm of movement and breathing. She loves to guide people through yoga practices and share her energy. Challenging, relaxing, connecting body and mind, calming down the nervous system.
